Phils Share $18M For World Series Win

The Phillies earned $18.4 million for winning the 2008 World Series, according to Bloomberg News.

From the article:

Members of the Phillies will get $351,504.48 each for defeating the Tampa Bay Rays in Major League Baseball’s championship round in October.

Philadelphia players awarded 45 full shares, partial shares totaling just over seven full payments, and 15 cash bonuses. Club employees such as trainers and scouts are often recipients of shares in addition to players.

The 2007 Red Sox received $18.9 million, because slightly larger ballpark capacities in the World Series means slightly more money.
