Winter Meetings Day 3 Wrap

The Phillies traded catcher Jason Jaramillo to the Pirates for catcher Ronny Paulino.

Rumors have the Phils close to signing free agent pitcher Chan Ho Park.

In other pitching news, Derek Lowe remains on the table. Ruben Amaro confirmed that. The Yankees seemed to be close to signing him, but that curtailed last night as they offered a huge contract to AJ Burnett.

Jake Peavy trade update: Conflicting reports had the deal dead, or well alive. We’ll side with the latter since Amaro confirmed this too — there may be movement today, and Mark DeRosa seems solidly in the picture.

Today is the Rule V draft, the annual end to the meetings.
