Phillies Release Pitching Schedule For First 7 Games

Scott Lauber has posted the Phillies pitching cycle for the first round of Spring Training games. Eat it up:

Wednesday at Pirates (Bradenton): Jamie Moyer, Joe Blanton, Joe Bisenius, Scott Nestor, Joe Borkowski, Mike Koplove, Jake Woods.
Thursday vs. Blue Jays (Clearwater): Carlos Carrasco, J.A. Happ, Justin Lehr, Gary Majewski, Blaine Neal, Yorman Bazardo.
Friday at Reds (Sarasota): Drew Carpenter, Antonio Bastardo, Chad Durbin, Ryan Madson, J.C. Romero, Sergio Escalona.
Saturday vs. Rays (Clearwater): Kyle Kendrick, Drew Naylor, Adam Eaton, Clay Condrey, Scott Eyre, Brad Lidge.
Sunday at Braves (Lake Buena Vista): Brett Myers, Chan Ho Park, Nestor, Borkowski.
March 2, B-game at Blue Jays (Dunedin): Moyer, Blanton, Majewski, Romero, Escalona, Condrey.
March 2 at Blue Jays (Dunedin):

Happ, Carrasco, Koplove, Woods, Bastardo, Bisenius.

Can this tell you anything? No, not really. It does tell you there are 27 pitchers (including Cole Hamels, who starts March 4, but not JC Romero, who is suspended for 50 games) in camp slugging it out for approximately 12 spots. Considering Hamels, Myers, Blanton, Moyer, Lidge, Madson, Durbin and Eyre are likely locked in for the staff, that makes it 19 pitchers slugging it out for four spots.

Tim first found the Phillies as a little infant at Veteran’s Stadium, cheering on a Juan Samuel game-winning home run in his very first game. With the pinstripes in his blood, he witnessed Terry Mulholland’s 1990 no-hitter, “Steve Carlton Night” at the Vet, game three of the 1993 World Series, countless games during the charmed 2008 championship season and various road excursions. Since November 2007 Tim’s been writing about them daily at Phillies Nation, becoming one of the world’s most popular Phillies scribes. You can catch him on Twitter and Facebook, as well. When he’s not talking about the Phils he’s relaxing with a St. Bernardus ABT 12 or one of his many favored brews.
