Returning Phillies Look Good In Debuts

A bunch of Phillies returned to the diamond today in an intra-squad game. They did well.

Chris Coste came back with a bang, hitting a home run off Chan Ho Park. The South Korean, meanwhile, pitched two innings and allowed a run on two hits, striking out three and hitting two batters. Also on the pitching front, Brett Myers looked good, striking out seven in five innings while allowing two hits. David Murphy reported his cutter was “clicking.”

Chad Durbin is also back, and he gave up a run on two hits while striking out one in an inning. Brad Lidge also pitched a frame, also giving up a run. And Pedro Feliz went 1-for-2 and recorded two ground ball plays at third base.

Tim first found the Phillies as a little infant at Veteran’s Stadium, cheering on a Juan Samuel game-winning home run in his very first game. With the pinstripes in his blood, he witnessed Terry Mulholland’s 1990 no-hitter, “Steve Carlton Night” at the Vet, game three of the 1993 World Series, countless games during the charmed 2008 championship season and various road excursions. Since November 2007 Tim’s been writing about them daily at Phillies Nation, becoming one of the world’s most popular Phillies scribes. You can catch him on Twitter and Facebook, as well. When he’s not talking about the Phils he’s relaxing with a St. Bernardus ABT 12 or one of his many favored brews.
