Gameday: Phillies (21-17) At Reds (21-18)

Philadelphia Phillies (21-17) at Cincinnati Reds (21-18)
Joe Blanton (1-3, 6.86 ERA) vs. Micah Owings (3-4, 3.95 ERA)
Time: 12:35 p.m. at Great American Ball Park, Cincinnati, Ohio
Weather: Sunny, 79
TV: Comcast SportsNet
Twitter: Phillies Nation

The Phillies couldn’t answer Aaron Harang Wednesday, but the lefties will have plenty of chances against Micah Owings.

Left-handers are hitting .350 against Owings, lifetime, so the Phillies are pouring them out: Rollins/Utley/Ibanez/Howard/Stairs/Victorino/Dobbs. Then Ruiz and Blanton, but who’s counting?

Of course, Howard is hitting .143 against Owings, but that’s another story.

Your gameday beer: Hooray for Witbiers! This is St. Bernardus Witbier, from one of my favorite breweries in the world. Crisp and slightly citrusy, it tastes heavier than you’d think. Enjoy this with some barbecue wings.

Go Phillies!

Tim Malcolm

Tim first found the Phillies as a little infant at Veteran’s Stadium, cheering on a Juan Samuel game-winning home run in his very first game. With the pinstripes in his blood, he witnessed Terry Mulholland’s 1990 no-hitter, “Steve Carlton Night” at the Vet, game three of the 1993 World Series, countless games during the charmed 2008 championship season and various road excursions. Since November 2007 Tim’s been writing about them daily at Phillies Nation, becoming one of the world’s most popular Phillies scribes. You can catch him on Twitter and Facebook, as well. When he’s not talking about the Phils he’s relaxing with a St. Bernardus ABT 12 or one of his many favored brews.
