Phillies Sign Catcher Paul Bako

David Murphy reports (via Twitter) the Phillies have signed catcher Paul Bako to a minor league deal. Todd Zolecki confirmed and said Bako will start in extended spring training.

Bako, 36, hit .217 with a career-high six home runs and 35 RBI in 299 at bats for Cincinnati last season. He signed with the Cubs for spring training but was released shortly after.
