August hasn’t been friendly to the Phillies, who started the month 0-3.

The Phillies will send J.A Happ to the mound, in possibly his last start before being moved back to the bullpen.  He survived spring training. He survived the trade deadline. Now he needs to survive and stay in the rotation.  His performance tonight could further tell his destiny.  Happ pitched 2.1 scoreless innings against the Rockies in April.

Jorge De La Rosa is improving as the season moves on.  He set a franchise record for most consecutive wins, seven. He will look to extend that streak to eight, but he is 0-2 with a 8.79 career ERA against the Phillies.  He gave up six earned runs in 3.2 innings at Citizens Bank Park.  If there is a pitcher that can cure the Phillies bats, it is De La Rosa.  But at the same time, De Rosa can pile up on strikeouts, something the Phillies do quite a bit.

Your Gameday Beer– Hopfenkonig
Probably more commonly known as Eggenberg Pils, these bottles have cool pull off caps. It’s a light and refreshing beer that I’ve been running into a lot lately. The flavor is not overwhelming, it’s crispy, balanced and lightly spiced. This and Prima Pils are two of my favorite Pils. Either one of those and some BBQ chicken pizza would be awesome. – By Brian
