Exciting News for PhilliesNation.com

Hey all, after our spirited trip to Washington D.C. in which we witnessed the unveiling of our new ace, Roy Halladay, I figured I would share some big news with all of you.

Through our partnership with 97.3 ESPN Radio in South Jersey, we’ve finally broken through.  Bloggers strive to become bigger and better everyday, and we’ve recently been able to accomplish something that not many bloggers have.  The 700 Level has stepped into a new territory with their partnering with Comcast, paving the way for local bloggers gaining access into games and events.  And, sure, Zolecki and Murphy and the beat guys have blogs now, but that is secondary, in a way, to their coverage for their respective organizations.

So, with the new Phillies season will come even better Phillies coverage here on PN.  As the “official blog” of 97.3 ESPN FM, I’ll be able to bring you coverage from the games, just as a beat writer/reporter would.  Being that official blog means clubhouse access, player interviews, press box access, and free ice cream, too (I think).  My main focus is two-fold.  I’ll be the eyes and ears for 97.3 ESPN at Citizens Bank Park much of this season, but I’ll also provide Phillies Nation with insider access that you can only get here.

The way sports is covered has changed dramatically and rapidly over the past few years.  With the evolution of Twitter and Facebook, it’s imperative we come up with new, exciting ways to inform you on everything Phillies related.  We are now able to do that at the highest level.  And, in doing so, we will be able to keep that same blogging mentality that makes us who we are; except, we’ll be able do it outside of our mothers basement.

Our thanks go out to the fans of Phillies Nation for making this a possibility.  Without your continued support of the website, we wouldn’t be able to partner up with an ESPN Radio station and give you unmatched coverage as no other blog can.  We appreciate the enthusiasm that continues to flow through our comment threads and twitter and facebook pages.  With this new opportunity will come a great new chapter for Phillies Nation, and we hope you’ll stay for the ride.
