Good news and bad news from Monday. Chase Utley finished up his rehab assignment and will be in the lineup tonight. That’s the good. The bad: The Braves scored three in the ninth inning on the hapless Dodgers to win and take a 2.5 game advantage in the NL East.

What an important series this is. The Phillies and Giants are in a virtual dead-heat atop the NL Wild Card standings, so a series victory has even greater importance as any advantage at this point would be welcomed.

Who else will be welcomed? Pat Burrell. He’s back in town tonight batting cleanup for the Giants.

Brew Free! or Die IPAYour Gameday Beer – Anchor Steam Humming Ale
Anchor Steam is a San Franciscan beer, so the matchup is perfect for the series opener. You can even get some Anchor Steam at Citizens Bank Park if you search for it, although I doubt they’ll have their seasonal blend, Humming Ale. It’s a very bold, hoppy ale and is released between August and November. It’s also fairly new, having first been brewed last year at this time. It has a beautiful, bright golden color and as all Anchor Steam bevies, you’ll likely enjoy the hell out of it. So drink that while the Phils spank the G-men. – By Pat
