Phillies to Face San Francisco Giants in NLCS

The San Francisco Giants took down the Atlanta Braves in the NLDS with another 3-2 win last night.

Game 1 will be a doozy with two of the best the game has to offer: Tim Lincecum vs. Roy Halladay. In Game 1 of their respective NLDS series’, Lincecum and Halladay pitched two of the greatest games in postseason history.

Halladay, as we all know, tossed the second no-hitter ever in the playoffs. Lincecum allowed just two hits in a complete game shutout, recording 14 strikeouts with one walk. Lincecum’s game score was actually two points higher than Halladay’s (96 to 94).

Offensively, the Giants scored 11 runs in four games.

The Game 2 starter will likely be Matt Cain. He pitched six innings while allowing one unearned run on Friday. The Giants Game 3 starter, Jonathan Sanchez, was awesome in his NLDS start, striking out 11 over 7 1/3 innings.

The National League Championship Series begins Saturday, no times have been announced.
