Moyer Leaves Dominican League Game with Elbow Injury

Could this finally mean the end of Jamie Moyer’s career? According to reports out of the Dominican Republic, Moyer has re-injured his elbow which caused him to miss the second half of the 2010 season.

Moyer has been in the D.R. with Escogido hoping to mount a comeback for the 2011 season, but this setback obviously puts a damper on those thoughts. He’ll be 48 on November 18, so if the injury results in surgery, this could be the end of the line.

According to one of the reports, Moyer’s general manager in the D.R., Moises Alou, believes the injury is a career-ender. If so, it was a hell of a ride for Moyer, who was not expected to be back with the Phillies in 2011. Still, don’t count him out. If he says he wants to pitch until he’s 50, he may just do that.
