Phils, Contreras Sign Two-Year Pact

Monday, 3:35 P.M.: Contreras has signed for 2/$5.5M, and Todd Zolecki has the details.

Sunday, 11:20 P.M.: Erique Rojas of ESPN.com is reporting that the Phillies and Jose Contreras are close to sealing a two-year, $5 million deal.

Contreras, who turns 39 in December, had a career revival in 2010, compiling a 6-4 record with a 3.34 ERA and four saves in 67 appearances with the Phillies. The right-hander struck out 57 and allowed only 16 walks in 56 2/3 innings.
