UTLEY UPDATE, 5:00 pm: Chase Utley is not close to running as he’s still dealing with some pain during drills, according to Ruben Amaro. They will not proceed further until the pain subsides, meaning he will not run just yet. Utley will continue with drills until he’s comfortable doing more.

Here are some quotes from Amaro talking with the media just a little while ago, thanks to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com.

A rivalry renewed? Let’s not go that far just yet. Although, it is Phillies/Mets, so anything can happen. What will happen tonight is the temperature will drop. So if you’re reading this, bundle yourself up. It will only be in the high 40’s to 50 by gametime with a stiff breeze. Parka!

Welcome Cole Hamels to the party. He might be the 4th starter, but he’s still a #1 in everyone’s book. He’s opposed by Chris Young of the Mets. Hamels struggled throughout Spring Training, mostly with command. The velocity on his fastball seems to be there. Can Hamels take the torch from the first three guys – Halladay, Lee, and Oswalt were pretty darn good – and keep the ball rolling? Each of those pitchers has exceptional command. Hamels will need the same.

Against the Mets in his career, Hamels hasn’t had a lot of luck. Over 80 innings in 13 starts he has a 3.38 ERA, but recorded just a 2-8 record. You can basically throw out the old numbers for now. New season, new faces, new ballgame.

LINEUP: Victorino CF, Polanco 3B, Rollins SS, Howard 1B, Ibanez LF, Francisco RF, Ruiz C, Valdez 2B, Hamels P.

Your Gameday Beer – Fire Island’s Red Wagon IPA

Tonight’s selection comes to us from Fire Island, NY, that crazy place off Long Island where cars are prohibited. And it is this quirky phenomenon that give us the name of the beer since red wagons are what locals use to transport goods around the island. Ah, simple times call for a simple beer. This golden beer is balanced with floral and fruity hops and is perfect for a September evening. Have it with some grilled pork chops.
