Phillies Minor Leaguer Frandsen Suspended 50 Games

Kevin Frandsen, a former utility man for the Giants and Dodgers, tested positive for the banned substance ritalinic acid, according to the Lehigh Valley Express Times. The Iron Pigs second baseman has been suspended 50 games for violating baseball’s drug policy.

The 28-year-old was hitting .321 with three home runs and 18 runs batted in for Lehigh Valley ; he was placed on the restricted list.

Frandsen played in parts of five seasons with the Giants and Dodgers, hitting .243.

Infielder Tagg Bozied has been activated off the disabled list for the Iron Pigs., where he’s been since the beginning of the season.
