Cliff Lee had a rough night on Tuesday against the Nationals.  He surrendered six runs in the Phillies 10-2 loss.  With the series even at one, Roy Oswalt looks to put the Phillies back on track in today’s rubber match.

Since returning from the disabled list, Oswalt has pitched well.  Thanks to a struggling offense, his win-loss record may not show his success, but he has only allowed three runs in his last 18 innings of work.  Since returning from the disabled list, Oswalt hasn’t been able to go past the seventh inning, and much of that had to do with a pitch count.  However, those five, six or seven innings have been solid as he gave his team a chance to win.

Oswalt has a 3.10 ERA against the Nationals over 93 innings.

John Lannan will forever be remembered for breaking Chase Utley’s hand in 2007, but the Phillies would like to remember him for the success they’ve had against him.  In 13 starts against Philadelphia, Lannan is 0-10 with a 6.44 ERA.  The Phillies are hoping to hit Lannan hard again, especially after scoring only two runs yesterday.

Your Gameday Beer– Today’s beer is Red Rocket Ale. Careful, this Amber/Red Ale is on fire. Its deep cinnamon color makes for a beautiful pour so be sure to release it from the bottle. Its hoppy, caramel malt flavor comes from a complex recipe of five different grains. If you can, roast a chicken with all the fix-ins. -By Brian
