This post is written by Gordon Mack, the Phillies fan currently in the MLB Fan Cave.
Hey Phillies Nation,
My name is Gordon Mack and this summer I am watching every single game of the MLB season, 2,430 games total. I am watching these games as a part of the MLB FanCave. Myself and six other baseball fans are currently living in NYC where we watch every single game while interacting with players/celebs, tweeting, blogging and even doing funny sketches with them.
To date, we’ve had Charlie Manuel, Shane Victorino, Miguel Cabrera, Justin Verlander, David Price, Adam Jones, Kate Upton, The Avett Brothers, The Fray, Jon “Bones” Jones, Penn Jillette and more . check out mlbfancave.com for videos/pics/etc.
Meeting Charlie was an unreal experience. I got to give him a tour of the cave. However, what made it awesome was being able to talk baseball and listen to some of his stories from his playing days. Charlie was exactly what I expected, an old school guy with a lot of knowledge of the game.
Shane was enjoying his time in the cave as well. He shot a funny sketch with Charlie (video coming soon) and spent time hanging out with the fellow cave dwellers and myself. The one thing that is cool when players come in is that they are not there to sign autographs for us or do a simple meet and greet. They come to hang out, shoot a funny sketch, and have a good time to break up the daily grind of games almost everyday.
Not many people get to celebrate “Take Your Favorite Baseball Team to Work” Day, I’m already looking forward to their next visit in about a month or so.
On a side note, MLB will be eliminating the seven of us until one fan remains at the World Series. (2 have been eliminated already) I am the lone Phillies fan in the cave, so hopefully with your support I can stay in the cave as long as possible.
Vote for me here to keep a Phillies fan in the cave! (unlimited times)
