It is no secret that Cole Hamels loves facing his hometown team.  Tonight could be exactly what he needs, as it has the potential to be a confidence builder for Hamels.

The fact is, Hamels has been a Padre-killer throughout  his career.  He is 8-2 with a 2.15 ERA in 88 career innings against the Friars.  He dominates in pitcher-friendly PETCO Park.  In 42.2 innings at PETCO, Hamels  is 4-1 with a 1.27 ERA and 0.82 WHIP.
