Brown to 7-Day DL, Susdorf Called to Phillies

(Phoulballz.com)

In a season full of it, the Phillies got more bad news today. Domonic Brown hits the 7-day DL, which was put in place for concussions and other head injuries. Taking his spot on the roster during his absence will be long-time Phillies farm hand, Steve Susdorf.

Susdorf, 27, has been with the Phillies since he was drafted in the 19th round in 2008 out of Cal State Fresno. In over 2,000 plate appearances through all levels of the minor leagues, Susdorf is a career .304 hitter with an .804 OPS. This season with Lehigh Valley, Susdorf is hitting .335 with 1 homer and 25 RBI.

Brown suffered the concussion Tuesday night and hoped to play by Friday, but it appeared the Phillies will take the safe route and keep him off the field for the next several days.
