Martin Leaves with Shoulder Issue

Thankfully, the Phillies signed AJ Burnett. Because if they had not done so, they’d be looking at little to no room for error when it comes to the starting rotation.

Ethan Martin left Thursday’s game against the Blue Jays with shoulder discomfort, according to the Daily News. Already without Cole Hamels and Jonathan Pettibone, the rotation is looking a wee bit thin.

Martin had an outside chance at making the team out of Clearwater, but this would be a major blow for him should the ailment push him to sidelines. The 24-year-0ld righty struggled mightily in his short stint with the big club last season, posting a 6.08 ERA in 15 games (8 starts).
