The Jayson Stark Show with Pat Gallen on 97.5 the Fanatic!

Some pretty awesome news. Not only is another season of Phillies Nation TV about to begin, but I’ll be hosting a weekly radio show with one of the biggest names in baseball, Jayson Stark.

Beginning Monday, April 6, I’ll be co-hosting the Jayson Stark show on 97.5 the Fanatic.

Here is the press release:

97.5 The Fanatic is excited to announce The Jayson Stark Show, presented by Univest, live from The Green Parrot in Newtown, PA. ESPN baseball expert, Jayson Stark will be hosting a one-hour show on select Mondays throughout the baseball season. The first show will air Monday, April 7th from 6-7pm. Stark will continue to be a regular contributor on the Mike Missanelli Show every Wednesday at 4:30pm.

“I may work for ESPN now, but I’m still a Philadelphian,” says Stark. “So the only thing cooler than joining my buddy Mike Missanelli every Wednesday is getting my own personal hour of radio, where I get to talk to my favorite Philadelphians about the Phillies and the sport they play, mix in a little trivia and do our best to turn this extravaganza into a show that’s even more fun than spending a summer evening hanging out in Ashburn Alley.”

Originally from Philadelphia, Jayson Stark has written and reported for ESPN on Major League Baseball since 2000. Prior to ESPN, Jayson covered the Philadelphia Phillies for the Philadelphia Inquirer, and twice was named Pennsylvania’s Sportswriter of the Year by the National Sportscaster and Sportswriters Association. Jayson is a senior baseball writer for ESPN.com, where his contributions include blogs, features, and video blogs. He also appears as an analyst on a variety of ESPN television and radio programs. Stark has also written three books including his newest baseball book coming out this May: Wild Pitches: Rumblings, Grumblings, and Reflections on the Game I Love.

The Jayson Stark Show presented by Univest, the total financial solutions provider for the local sports fanatic, will be open to the public, live from The Green Parrot located at 240 N. Sycamore St, Newtown, PA.

Pat Gallen has been with the Fanatic since 2012 and is currently a host, anchor, and Phillies beat reporter. Pat, too, is from Philadelphia, and has been a reporter for the team for four seasons. In addition, Gallen runs Phillies Nation, and you can watch Phillies Nation TV Tuesday’s at 6pm on the Comcast Network with replays throughout the week on Comcast Sportsnet. He looks forward to working with the preeminent baseball writer in America, Jayson Stark.

So there you have it. I get to work with a guy I’ve looked up to since I was old enough to hold the sports section of the Sunday Inquirer, which I did at a very young age.

I’m super excited to get to work with Jayson this baseball season and I sure hope you guys will listen. Thanks!

Pat joined Phillies Nation in July 2009, coming over from Examiner.com. As a previous employee of both Comcast SportsNet and the National Basketball Association, Pat prides himself on being a well-rounded individual when it comes to sports. However, the Phillies are first on the list. You’ll usually find Pat chiming in on the Phillies Nation Facebook or Twitter account, weekdays on 97.3 ESPN radio or hosting Phillies Nation TV. He’s also a Senior Writer for the site, and in his free time is a music enthusiast and Will Ferrell movie-follower. His favorite beer: Philly’s own Yards. In 2015, Pat moved on from Phillies Nation as a sports anchor and reporter for CBS-3 in Philadelphia.
