Phillies Outright Nix, Galvis Breaks Clavicle

Jayson Nix is gone. He’s been outrighted off the 40-man roster, so he can either accept a trip to Lehigh Valley, or become a free agent. A corresponding move will come before tomorrow’s game against the Los Angeles Angels.

Which move that will be is unclear. It could be Cesar Hernandez or Ronny Cedeno. It’s unlikely to be Darin Ruf, who just started his rehab assignment at Lehigh Valley.

Freddy Galvis broke his clavicle and will miss significant time, although there’s no timetable yet. Galvis barely had a pulse at the plate before the injury, although this would certainly stunt his growth having to miss time and plate appearances.
