Phillies Lose to Mets in Extras, Again

Stop me if you’ve heard it before. The Phillies lost to the Mets, 4-3, in 11 innings. It was a third straight extra-inning affair between the two teams, the first time thats happened in the history of the series.

Cole Hamels was upset and did not speak to the media following the game. It’s hard to fault him for that. He struck out eight over seven innings and ended up with a no-decision.

Phillippe Aumont, in his first appearance with the team since July 6, 2013, allowed a two-run home run to Lucas Duda in the 11th inning.

For the Phillies, Ryan Howard smashed his 11th home run of the season.
