On Sunday, Boston beat writer Nick Cafardo wrote the Phillies scouted the Red Sox for three straight series, possibly to find something they would take in return for John Mayberry Jr.. Cafardo began to connect the dots again this morning, stating that his Major League sources say “pretty much everyone available on their roster is available in trade“, listing Mayberry, Domonic Brown, and Marlon Byrd

all as possible fits for the Red Sox.

In his piece from earlier this morning, Cafardo says the Phillies have now scouted the Red Sox for five straight series. After their fourth straight loss, this could be the beginning of the fire sale.
