Lone Phillie Utley Named Starting 2B for NL All-Stars

MLB.

After his exceptional start to the season, the fans have spoken for the sixth time in his career: Chase Utley will once again start the All-Star game at second base for the National League.

Utley finished roughly 800,000 votes ahead of Dodgers speedster, Dee Gordon, who made the team as a reserve. The Phillies second baseman, along with Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina, leads all NL players on the roster with six selections. He is the lone Phillies representative on the NL roster. The last time the Phillies had just one all-star, it was Randy Wolf in 2003.
