Gameday 146: Phillies vs. Pirates

Pittsburgh Pirates (76-69) at Philadelphia Phillies (67-78)

Starting Pitchers:
PIT: Francisco Liriano (4-10, 3.74 ERA)
vs.
PHI: A.J. Burnett (8-15, 4.29 ERA)

Time: 7:05, Citizens Bank Park
TV: CSN
Weather: Cloudy with rain possible, 80
Media: Twitter and Facebook

Note for tonight:  A.J. Burnett will be facing his former team tonight, and hopefully that provides some insight that will help his performance.  He is looking to avoid losing 16 games in a season for the first time in his career.  He has won 2 of his past 3 starts, but the Phils dropped the previous 7 games he started before that.  Also, Pirates’ left-fielder Starling Marte is on fire, batting .390 over a 10-game hit streak.  He went 2 for 4 last night, his fifth consecutive multi-hit game.  Finally, as you’ll see below, the Phillies are going with a new, youthful lineup as J-Roll is still nursing his hammy and Chase gets the night off.

Lineup: Revere CF / Franco 3B / Byrd RF / Howard 1B / Ruf LF / Ruiz C /Hernandez 2B / Galvis SS / Burnett P
