MAG Hit Hard In Spring Debut, Exits Early

UPDATE: Ryan Lawrence says MAG was in fact lifted for precautionary reasons. He has a contusion on his knee, and he should make his next scheduled start.

Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez made his Spring debut today, and it wasn’t the most ideal outing for the Phillies righty. He pitched into the third inning, but had his start cut short after taking a line drive off the knee.

He gave up a two run homer and a double, in addition to the line drive that ended his outing. Overall, he gave up three runs in 2+ innings.

His velocity was in the 93-94 range, and he did look like he had very good movement on a few of his pitches. We will have an update on his status when it becomes available. It appeared as though he left due to precautionary reasons, and, with the newest Cliff Lee news, that is what we’ll all be hoping for.
