A Note for Today:

The Phillies welcome the St. Louis Cardinals to town for a three game series over the weekend.  The Phillies will look to hack at some pitches from Tyler Lyons, who has given up 21 hits in 4 starts for the Cards.

Phillippe Aumont will get the start for the Phillies after showing some strengths in the starting position for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs.  Aumont has started 14 games and boasts a 2.35 ERA, giving up 17 earned runs over 65.0 innings pitched.  Aumont will get one of his last chances in the Majors after not being claimed off waivers once already this year, and gets the spot start (for now) in place of Cole Hamels.  Aumont will look to find himself a place in a rotation full of struggling older pitchers, where he could shine.

Cole Hamels is not expected to miss more than one start with his strained hamstring which is good and bad news all in the same.  Bad news, any trade involving Hamels will now be pushed back at least two more weeks as potential trade partners will want to see him pitch at least two starts before pulling the trigger.  While it is good that he is not in need of a trip the the DL which would delay things even longer.

Cesar Hernandez will get the start at second base, while Jeff Francouer is shifted over to left field to give Cody Asche a day off.  Cameron Rupp will get the start over Carlos Ruiz to catch for Phillippe Aumont.

First pitch of the series at 7:05 EST.

Lineup:

Revere CF, Hernandez 2B, Franco 3B, Howard 1B, Francouer LF, Rupp C, Brown RF, Galvis SS, Aumont RHP
