Hernandez Goes to 60-day DL; JP Crawford Up

…In the air in a high flying double play. Just kidding, not yet.

But he did do this showing his Ups.

Yesterday, the Phillies lost second baseman Cesar Hernandez to the DL after he collided at first base with Anthony Rizzo, dislocating his thumb for all to see.  The Phillies will be bringing up Chase d’Arnaud, to take his place as the Fightins’ continue their run in the playoffs.  d’Arnaud has not found himself in the Majors since 2014 with the Pittsburgh Pirates after playing 8 games and mainly being used as a pinch runner.   Chase played 48 games in 2011, hitting with a .217 batting average, scoring 17 runs on 31 hits.

Darnell Sweeney will likely be picking up most of the second base duties for now, as he gets a long look tonight against the Washington Nationals.
