A Note for Today:

The Phillies will look to help upset the season for the Nationals in a three-game series for the beginning of the week matchup.  The Nationals have fallen from atop the division to second place, currently 9.5 games behind the New York Mets.

The Nationals lead the matchup 8-5 for the year against the Phillies, playing 13 games over the first 83 days of the season, but this is the first time that Jonathan Papelbon will make his way back into Citizens Bank Park.

Darnell Sweeney gets the start at second base for the hurt, Cesar Hernandez while Brian Bogusevic will start in right field.

Aaron Nola gets the start on the mound for the Phillies after pitching 7.0 innings against the Atlanta Braves, allowing only 6 hits and no runs, striking out 7 batters and walking just one.
