Aaron Altherr Returns, Bourjos to the DL

Aaron Altherr is slated to make his return tonight in right field for the start of a four game series in Atlanta. Altherr, who is batting fifth, was poised to see a lot of action in the outfield this season, but a torn tendon in his wrist kept him sidelined since Spring Training. In Altherr’s rehab assignment, he hit .341 with one home run and six RBIs. In 39 games last season, the tall right hander tallied a .241 average while driving in 22 runs. Altherr provided pop in the Phillies lineup with 20 of his 33 hits going for extra bases.

In the corresponding move, the Phillies have placed Peter Bourjos on the 15-day disabled list with a shoulder sprain he suffered against the Marlins.
