Midseason Ratings: Who Will Be Here In 2019?

Back in February I asked you to make a snap judgment.

The prompt: “How confident are you, on a scale of 1-10, that current players in the Phillies organization would be on the major league roster on opening day 2019?”

I received a couple dozen responses, revealing only minor nuggets of mostly noise. But a few nuggets seemed louder than others. For one, fans overwhelmingly thought J.P. Crawford, Maikel Franco and Aaron Nola would be contributors in 2019. Also, nobody had any idea what to expect at places like first base and catcher, with numerous players earning high confidence ratings.

Now that we’re past the midseason mark, I’m calling out once again for your confidence ratings. I’ve added some names (some draft picks and a couple previously unknown quantities [hello, Tommy Joseph]) but like last time, the task is simple:

If you’re overwhelmingly, over-the-moon confident that someone will be on the big-league roster in April 2019, give him a 10. From there, weigh your confidence to 1. If you haven’t heard of a player, or don’t feel confident about assigning him a rating, leave it blank. Otherwise, rate everyone with at least a 1.

And either paste your responses in the comments, or email them to me at tsmalcolm@gmail.com.

Thanks!

Tim Malcolm

Tim first found the Phillies as a little infant at Veteran’s Stadium, cheering on a Juan Samuel game-winning home run in his very first game. With the pinstripes in his blood, he witnessed Terry Mulholland’s 1990 no-hitter, “Steve Carlton Night” at the Vet, game three of the 1993 World Series, countless games during the charmed 2008 championship season and various road excursions. Since November 2007 Tim’s been writing about them daily at Phillies Nation, becoming one of the world’s most popular Phillies scribes. You can catch him on Twitter and Facebook, as well. When he’s not talking about the Phils he’s relaxing with a St. Bernardus ABT 12 or one of his many favored brews.
