Jimmy Rollins has signed a minor-league contract with the Giants.
The deal comes with an invitation to spring training; if Rollins, 38, makes the Giants 25-man roster, he’ll earn $1 million in 2017.
Rollins made the White Sox roster after a spring training invitation in 2016, but he floundered during the season, finishing .221/.295/.329 with two home runs, eight doubles and five stolen bases.
He holds the Phillies’ franchise record for career hits with 2,306, and won the 2007 Most Valuable Player award.
