Neris blows save again, Phillies lose again

It finally happened. The Phillies hit rock bottom – or at least we can only hope.

Hector Neris blew yet another save. Odubel Herrera was benched after blowing through Juan Samuel’s stop sign to end the Phils’ rally in the ninth.

Edubray Ramos gave up a leadoff double in the tenth, followed by a balk and intentional walk. He capped off his performance by sailing a pickoff attempt over Tommy Joseph’s head to give the Cardinals the lead.

Meanwhile, the team’s best reliever, Pat Neshek, never left the bullpen. Oh, and the team actually had a five-run lead at one point.

In case you couldn’t tell, the Phillies lost and have only won only one of their last 14 games.

Some good news – the Phils close out the series tomorrow afternoon so our night won’t be ruined.
