It’s Truck Day, kicking off … wait, it’s almost spring training time?

Yesterday plenty of us spent the day watching buses ride through the streets of Philadelphia. Today, in similar but completely dissimilar fashion, let’s watch this truck begin driving toward Clearwater.

Yup, it’s Truck Day. The truck holding all the equipment is on its way to Florida, and in less than a week, the Phillies will begin spring training.

It certainly doesn’t feel that way. For one, we just ended the football season (God, how awesome is that). Also, there’s a full couple teams worth of free agents still available, and a bunch of those guys are going to have their own spring training in an effort comparable to the 1995 strike situation

.

But hey, it’s time to get into the spring mood.

Tim Malcolm

Tim first found the Phillies as a little infant at Veteran’s Stadium, cheering on a Juan Samuel game-winning home run in his very first game. With the pinstripes in his blood, he witnessed Terry Mulholland’s 1990 no-hitter, “Steve Carlton Night” at the Vet, game three of the 1993 World Series, countless games during the charmed 2008 championship season and various road excursions. Since November 2007 Tim’s been writing about them daily at Phillies Nation, becoming one of the world’s most popular Phillies scribes. You can catch him on Twitter and Facebook, as well. When he’s not talking about the Phils he’s relaxing with a St. Bernardus ABT 12 or one of his many favored brews.
