Gameday 2018: Phillies (9-5) at Braves (8-6)

The Phillies will try to extend their winning streak to seven games, and move to 10-5, as they head back to Atlanta for a three-game series starting tonight.

Gametime: 7:35 p.m.

The lineup:

  1. Kingery – 2B
  2. Santana – 1B
  3. Herrera – CF
  4. Hoskins – LF
  5. Altherr – RF
  6. Crawford – SS
  7. Franco – 3B
  8. Alfaro – C
  9. Nola – P

Pitchers: Aaron Nola (1-0, 1.96 ERA) vs. Julio Teheran (0-1, 7.07 ERA)

It’s a rematch of opening day, hopefully with a different result, as Nola faces Teheran. With a righty on the mound, Aaron Altherr starts over Nick Williams, which … I guess. Also Cesar Hernandez takes a seat. Surprised that’s tonight, again with the righty on the mound. Whatever. Let’s go with it.

Your Gameday Beer: I give you one of my favorite beers of the last year or so. Wrench, by Industrial Arts in New York, is a fantastic New England-style IPA – hoppy and citrusy, like floating on a cloud. The brewery is fantastic, too, and is one of my favorite places to hang on a weekend afternoon.

Go Phillies!

Tim first found the Phillies as a little infant at Veteran’s Stadium, cheering on a Juan Samuel game-winning home run in his very first game. With the pinstripes in his blood, he witnessed Terry Mulholland’s 1990 no-hitter, “Steve Carlton Night” at the Vet, game three of the 1993 World Series, countless games during the charmed 2008 championship season and various road excursions. Since November 2007 Tim’s been writing about them daily at Phillies Nation, becoming one of the world’s most popular Phillies scribes. You can catch him on Twitter and Facebook, as well. When he’s not talking about the Phils he’s relaxing with a St. Bernardus ABT 12 or one of his many favored brews.
