Gameday 2018: Reds (2-7) at Phillies (4-5)

If every game is like Monday’s, boy are we in for a season (where we get sick all the time, probably). It’s Game 2 of the three-gamer against Cincinnati.

Also, it’s #NolaDay!

Gametime: 7:05 p.m.

The lineup:

  1. Hernandez – 2B
  2. Santana – 1B
  3. Herrera – CF
  4. Hoskins – LF
  5. Williams – RF
  6. Kingery – 3B
  7. Alfaro – C
  8. Crawford – SS
  9. Nola – P

Pitchers: Aaron Nola (0-0, 2.61 ERA) vs. Homer Bailey (0-2, 4.22 ERA)

J.P. Crawford is back in, while Scott Kingery plays over Maikel Franco. Also, Nick Williams gets a shot against the righty Bailey.

Your Gameday Beer: I love me some Flanders red ales, which combine fruit flavor with old yeast strains. Here’s Red Poppy Ale from The Lost Abbey, a damn good California brewery. This has sour cherry taste up front. Real nice.

Go Phillies!

Tim first found the Phillies as a little infant at Veteran’s Stadium, cheering on a Juan Samuel game-winning home run in his very first game. With the pinstripes in his blood, he witnessed Terry Mulholland’s 1990 no-hitter, “Steve Carlton Night” at the Vet, game three of the 1993 World Series, countless games during the charmed 2008 championship season and various road excursions. Since November 2007 Tim’s been writing about them daily at Phillies Nation, becoming one of the world’s most popular Phillies scribes. You can catch him on Twitter and Facebook, as well. When he’s not talking about the Phils he’s relaxing with a St. Bernardus ABT 12 or one of his many favored brews.
