(Nationals have won five straight including a sweep of Pittsburgh)

Ah damnit.

Gametime: 7:05 p.m.

The lineup:

  1. Hernandez – 2B
  2. Hoskins – LF
  3. Herrera – CF
  4. Altherr – RF
  5. Santana – 1B
  6. Franco – 3B
  7. Kingery – SS
  8. Alfaro – C
  9. Pivetta – P

Pitchers: Nick Pivetta (1-1, 3.27 ERA) vs. Gio Gonzalez (3-2, 2.67 ERA)

It’s Pivetta Day, as the old curveballer gets a crack at the Nats somewhat healthy lineup. Scott Kingery is apparently healthy and at shortstop.

Your Gameday Beer: It has been a week. Well, for me at least. Time to drown my sorrows in Damnation, a killer beer by killer Russian River. This is big stuff. Hard to get. But if you do, good God. Also like it, in a way, is Matilda by Goose Island. PROST.

Go Phillies!

Tim first found the Phillies as a little infant at Veteran’s Stadium, cheering on a Juan Samuel game-winning home run in his very first game. With the pinstripes in his blood, he witnessed Terry Mulholland’s 1990 no-hitter, “Steve Carlton Night” at the Vet, game three of the 1993 World Series, countless games during the charmed 2008 championship season and various road excursions. Since November 2007 Tim’s been writing about them daily at Phillies Nation, becoming one of the world’s most popular Phillies scribes. You can catch him on Twitter and Facebook, as well. When he’s not talking about the Phils he’s relaxing with a St. Bernardus ABT 12 or one of his many favored brews.
