Photos and video from the 2008 Phillies World Series Parade

On this day 10 years ago, people across the Delaware Valley woke up to a crisp Halloween morning, not too unlike today.  The hangover from two days prior – when the Phillies captured their second World Series Championship – had finally subsided and fans were ready to celebrate again.

Parents pulled their kids out of school with Phillies Phever and everyone packed onto the nearest SEPTA platform.  Those who made it filled the parade route along Broad and Market Streets, Lincoln Financial Field and Citizens Bank Park.

Those of us in attendance at CBP were treated with Chase Utley’s immortal words:

One of our staff writers, Matt Veasey, was at 15th & JFK Boulevard as the Phillies parade caravan prepared to roll out. He captured the below video of a young man attempting to scale a light standard, then set it to the “Rocky” theme music on his return home.

The entire day was filled with fun for the city of Philadelphia. Here are photos from the parade. If you were there, see if you can find yourself!
