Phillies Nation is honored to have Larry Shenk among the ranks of our regular contributors.
“The Baron” is the former Philadelphia Phillies head of community relations, a role in which he served the organization for more than four decades. Larry is also a 2018 inductee to the Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame.
In addition to the Phillies alumni and history work which Larry shares with readers here at Phillies Nation, his “Minor League Report” pieces now also run with us all during the season as well.

**IronPigs (27–24) were shut out for the second straight game (second of the season), 8–0, by the RailRiders in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. LV slipped to three games behind first-place SWB.
Reading, Eastern League Eastern Division
**Fightin Phils (28–21) were defeated by the visiting Richmond Flying Squirrels, 9–4, in the opener of a four-game weekend series . . . Game time temperature, 77 degrees; wind, 7 miles per hour; starting time, 7:10; attendance, 7,707 . . . With the loss, Reading dropped to fourth place, 2.5 games out of first.
Pitching: LP: Ramon Rosso (3–2), 5.2–8–7–7–2–6, 2 HR; most runs he’s allowed in a game in his pro career . . . Followed by Aaron Brown, 2.1–2–2–0–1–3, and Connor Brogdon, 1–0–0–0–0–2 . . . Adonis Medina (2–2) and Jose Taveras (1–0) in 5:15 doubleheader (7-inning games) this evening vs. Richmond.
Clearwater, Florida State League North Division
**Threshers (28–26) lost the series opener to the visiting Dunedin Blue Jays, 3–1. With the loss, third-place Clearwater falls 5.5 games behind the first-place Blue Jays with 13 games left in the first half.
Pitching: LP: Ethan Evanko (2–1, 4–1 overall), 6–8–2–1–3–7, career-high in strikeouts; both runs coming in the first inning on a walk, infield single, single and error; 93 pitches, 63 strikes . . . Damon Jones (2–3), 6:30 tonight vs. Dunedin.
Hitting: Threshers were held to four hits, including 3B Jack Scheiner’s 5th HR in the fifth inning that cut the margin to 2–1 . . . DH Alec Bohm, 0–2, two walks; hitting streak ended at 10 games; the two walks extended his on-base streak to 11 straight games.
Lakewood, South Atlantic League North Division
**BlueClaws (18–35) ended a three-game losing streak by banging out 13 hits in a 9–3 win in Greensboro. First win vs. Greensboro in eight games. Start of game was delayed 1:51 by rain.
Pitching: Five pitchers held the Grasshoppers to two singles . . . ND: Starter Tyler McKay, 4–0–0–0–2–2 . . . WP: Kyle Glogoski (3–1), 2.1–1–1–1–1–5 . . . Jhordany Mezquita (2–3), 7 tonight in Greensboro.
Hitting: Lead-off hitter, 3B Hunter Stovall, 3–5, run, 3 RBI . . .
