On the Monday June 24, 2019 edition of Locked On Phillies, Phillies Nation Editorial Director Tim Kelly reacts to the Phillies being swept by the Miami Marlins over the weekend.

Specifically, Kelly looks at where blame should go, and how warm the seats of hitting coach John Mallee, manager Gabe Kapler and general manager Matt Klentak may be getting.

Later in the show, Kelly breaks down an incident that the Mets, who will come to Citizens Bank Park Monday, had after their loss Sunday afternoon.

Locked On Phillies is a daily Phillies podcast hosted by Tim Kelly that’s part of the Locked On Podcast Network. You can listen to and download Locked On Phillies on the new podcasting app Himalaya, as well as Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts and Spotify.

If a manager doesn’t provide leadership, then it’s time for the manager to go. It’s obvious the players have tuned him out. This collapse mirrors the same one that happened last year in September. Unfortunately Kap panicked last year , with the musical chair line ups and the haphazard bullpen use. It looks like he’s doing the same thing this year. Except this year , he’s got experienced players on the team, who look at what he’s doing, shrug their shoulders and say “whatever”. Appoint Charlie, Pete Mac or Bowa as interim manager and hire a good one next year. Either Dusty Wathan,Joe Girardi, Buck Showalter or Mike Sciosia will do just fine.

They should also fire Mallee ASAP.
