Phillies 2019 players present a wide variety of walk-up songs

Phillies fans enjoyed the iconic sounds of Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page (L) and Robert Plant (R) with every Chase Utley (C) plate appearance. (phillymads63/Utley, Dina Regine/Zeppelin)

Most Phillies fans who were around to enjoy the team during their last heyday of contention are sure to agree: there was nothing like hearing Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir” blast through the speakers at Citizens Bank Park as Chase Utley, the greatest second baseman to every don the red pinstripes, made his way to the plate.

Player-selected walk-up songs are a huge part of the game day experience in modern professional baseball, and the current Philadelphia Phillies players have collectively done a good job at selecting their own tunes.

Check out this (almost complete) list of 2019 Phillies walk-up songs with a full playlist of all the songs and an individual list below.

Walk-up songs are stupid and take away from the enjoyment of the game. They should be eliminated immediately. If I were a baseball player I would make a specific request to play no music at all for my “walk-up.” If I owned the Phillies there would be no walk-up music. I also believe, but am not certain of this, that the Phillies have to pay royalties to the ‘artists’ to use their music as part of their business. So that means higher ticket prices to watch a crappy baseball team and listen to crappy music. Boy, people sure are stupid.

If one wants to truly enjoy a baseball game go to Wrigley Field. Our society is increasingly inundated with noise and unfortunately baseball stadiums are no better.
