“The Baron” is the former Philadelphia Phillies head of community relations, a role in which he served the organization for more than four decades. Larry is also a 2018 inductee to the Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame.

In addition to the Phillies alumni and history work which Larry shares with readers here at Phillies Nation, his “Minor League Report” pieces now also run with us all during the season as well.

Lehigh Valley, International League North Division
**IronPigs (42–42) and Pawtucket wound up in a game suspended by rain after 2 innings. Red Sox have a 3–0 lead. Game will be resumed at 11:05 with the regularly scheduled game to follow . . . Phillie Phanatic will be there.

AAA All-Star Game: Wednesday night in El Paso, International League vs. Pacific Coast League. Austin Davis is on the IL roster.

**Fightin Phils (13–7) shut out the Flying Squirrels, 5–0, in Richmond . . . Second consecutive shutout . . . 4-game series concludes at 1:05 this afternoon . . . Reading leads the division, 3 games ahead of Portland and Hartford.

Pitching: Starter and winner Bailey Falter (6–5) was outstanding, 7–2–0–0–2–6; retired 13 in a row at one point; both hits were singles; 89 pitches, 62 strikes; 2nd straight start in which he went 7 innings . . . Aaron Brown completed the shutout, 2–1–0–0–0–2.

Hitting: All 5 runs came in T5, 4 on a grand slam by CF Grenny Cumana, 2nd HR. The 5-foot-5 Cumana came up big.

Transactions: INF Jose Antequera and LHR Jakob Hernandez, assigned from Reading. LHR Luis Cedeno, released.

AA All-Star Game: Wednesday night in Richmond, Eastern Division vs. Western Division.

1B Darick Hall, RHP Adonis Medina, RHP Addison Russ, OF Grenny Cumana (replacing injured OF Mickey Moniak) are on the Eastern Division team.

Clearwater, Florida State League North Division [36–30, 2nd place, 1st half]
**Threshers (12–6) were rained out in Tampa . . . Doubleheader (7-inning games) at 12 noon today . . . Clearwater is 1.5 games behind the 1st place Dunedin Blue Jays who are the 1st half champs.

**BlueClaws (6–11) dropped 2 games to the Hoppers in Greensboro . . . Series concludes at 4 this afternoon.

Suspended game: Halted by rain on Friday night with host Greensboro leading 5–2 after 2 innings . . . Hoppers won 9–4 . . . 4 BlueClaws errors paved the way for 7 unearned runs. LP: Jordany Mezquita (2–6), 5 unearned runs in 2 innings. C Rafael Marchan, 3–4, walk, run.

Regular game (7 innings): 2–1 defeat on a 1-out walk-off single in B8. Hoppers tied the game in B6 . . . C Nick Matera’s home run gave the Claws a 1–0 lead in T5. HR was his 2nd in 2 games with Lakewood. Other 3 Lakewood hits were singles, 2 by DH Carlos De La Cruz . . . No decision for starter Francisco Morales, 5–2–0–0–1–2, wild pitch, hit batter, 70 pitches, 44 strikes. LP: Mark Potter (0–4).

**Crosscutters (4–17) were rained out against the Black Bears. Since it was West Virginia’s last game in Williamsport, it will be played later in the season in WV . . . 4:05 this evening in Mahoning Valley . . . Looking to end a 4-game losing streak.

**West (8–2) had a day off . . . League-wide day off today . . . Monday: Yankees West in Tampa, 12 noon.

**East (4–5) lost, 7–2, to the Yankees East in Tampa; NYE iced the game with a 4-run B8 . . . Rehabbing Connor Seabold, 1st of 6 pitchers, was charged with the loss, 2.1–6–3–3–0–2 . . . PE held to 6 singles, 2 each for Wilfredo Flores, 3B Curtis Mead . . . League-wide day off today. Monday: another day off.
