Phillies unveil 2020 Spring Training Schedule

(Brandon Apter/Phillies Nation)

The Philadelphia Phillies’ 2020 regular season schedule was set on August 12. Now, their Spring Training slate has been unveiled. Once again, the Phils will play at Spectrum Field in Clearwater, Florida, ahead of the 2020 campaign. No official date for pitchers and catchers reporting has been released.

The Phillies will open their Spring Training schedule on the road against the Detroit Tigers in Lakeland, Florida, on February 22. Following that game, they play three straight at home in Clearwater with two of those being split squad.

All in all the Phils have 17 home games at Spectrum Field, which include match-ups against the Yankees, Red Sox, Blue Jays, Tigers and Rays. They will play host to Toronto on St. Patrick’s Day on March 17, a game that almost always sells out.

March 23 will be Philadelphia’s final Spring Training game before heading to Miami to open the 2020 season. The Phillies’ home opener is on April 2 against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Each August, while the Yankees, Cardinals, Dodgers, etc. look forward to October, Phillies fans look forward to next Spring Training.

Phillies Nation contributors: Check the contracts of the players for the ‘No Work in October’ clause. It is part of their compensation package along with no running to first base and not having to know how many outs there are in the inning.

Enjoy St. Patrick’s Day losing to Toronto. Remember 1993? Maybe Joe Carter will be there wearing his large World Series Championship ring.

Not making any plans or spending another in this team until the FIRE KAPLER, KLENTAX, and MACPHAIL!

We need true leadership from the top down.Until we the fans demand it meaning creating economic downturns will ownership listen!

Start now! Leave the 3 stooges on the roads, even the retired players / turned broadcasters are embarrassed by the 3 stooges and what the 3 have morphed the organization into!

Yet ownership is either blind or unwilling to accept their mistake of giving the 3 stooges control!

Amen Hill. And I am an agnostic.

The problem is Craig Glessner and his sidekick and the 30k per home game like them. Until the team is transferred to Germans there is no hope. Glessner and sidekick fork over their money to Middleton who sits up in his box and laughs at the local ignorant Phillies fan. Middleton constructs a Potemkin Village of sliding boards, muppets, ‘walk-up’ music, yoga, Super Hero, barking dogs, etc to deflect the substandard product on the field from the ignorant local Phillies fan.

Glessner and sidekick need to step up and be part of the solution and not attack fellow commenters who are actually AWARE of the problem. Do your parts Glessner and sidekick. Boycott the games. You can find something else to do with your time and money.

I generally only get to Philadelphia once or twice a year I live about 5 hours away. I just looked at the standings and the Phillies are very much still in the playoff race where as many teams have no hope left ( pirates, tigers. Royals. Etc.) Even the Orioles whom you commented should have a team and move the Phillies to Montreal. The Phillies are currently 10th in mlb in attendance and the Orioles are 30th only drawing more fans than the Florida teams. Going by your logic the team will be better if no fans go well I don’t think that is working for the orioles to support this logic the Dodgers I believe we can both agree are having a very good season have the best attendance. So in fact the only correlation between attendance and teams records is that the better teams draw more fans. Hey I don’t like Kapler anymore than anyone else but its baseball season and I’m going to support the Phillies and watch them on TV or at the ballpark. I’m honored that I have pissed you off so much that you mention me as the problem since I have already established that you are repeatedly wrong meaning you are in fact the problem not fans such as myself or my sidekick or the 34000 fans at the games. The only thing I like as much as baseball is being sarcastic towards idiots so I end by saying thank you Phanatic.

Certainly glad I could be of assistance. And I am also glad that I am just an ‘idiot’ and nothing more serious. I have been insulted on three continents with some of these:

      ‘self-entitled jerk’

      ‘thug’

      ‘self-deluded’

      self-aggrandizing and pretentious’

      ‘off-putting’

      ‘petty’

      ‘fascist’

      ‘petulant’

      ‘unthinking cretin’

      ‘frivolous’

      ‘phony and bitchy’

‘a yawning black hole of thought’

      ‘without humor’

      ‘tediously boring’

      etc., etc.

But through it all I have my champagne, beach, girls and my books. And I have Glessner and his sidekick to keep me company. And so a big thank you to Glessner.

      Bonsoir
