Current and former Phillies react to the death of Kobe Bryant

The sports world is in shock after it was confirmed that NBA legend Kobe Bryant died at the age of 41 in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. Eight other people—including Bryant’s 13-year-old daughter Gianna Maria Onore—were reported to have also died, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Athletes around the world are reacting to this news with sadness and disbelief. Many, if not all, have grown up watching Bryant and dreamed of emulating his greatness when they grew up.
