Phillies Nation Perfect Season: Lee narrowly misses complete game against Mets

Every day until Opening Day arrives, Phillies Nation will take a daily look back at a regular season victory from that particular day in history that you can watch in full in lieu of live Phillies baseball. Think of it is as your daily Phillies watch recommendation.

Cliff Lee got off to a hot start in 2013. (Bill Streicher/Icon Sportwire)

Coming off a dominant performance against the Braves, Lee wanted to build upon his hot start to the 2013 season. He did just that, going eight and two-thirds, allowing two earned runs and striking out six. The Phillies offense came out swinging early, putting up four runs in the second and scoring three runs in the third off three solo home runs. Michael Young fell a double short of the cycle, going 3-for-4 with a home run, triple and single.

Also, if you want to hear Chris Wheeler predict a Ryan Howard home run in the bottom of the third, skip to 51:05.
