The Phillies announced Thursday afternoon that two staff members tested positive for COVID-19 from the latest round of testing that occured Wednesday morning.
One is a part of the coaching staff while another is a home clubhouse attendant. All players have tested negative.
Until further notice, all activities at Citizens Bank Park have been cancelled.
This comes after a total of 17 players and two staff members from the Miami Marlins have tested positive for COVID-19. Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reported earlier today that an additional Marlins player tested positive, which brought the total number of COVID-19 positive players to 17. The positive test was anticipated through contact tracing. One of the two staff members that tested positive beforehand has since tested negative.
General manager Matt Klentak told the local media on Wednesday that pitching coach Bryan Price was cleared to return to the team after exhibiting symptoms over the weekend. All of his tests came back negative as of July 29.
Klentak also confirmed on Wednesday that a Phillies visiting clubhouse staff member tested positive for the virus.
