Watch: Former Phillie Corey Dickerson hits go-ahead home run in playoff game

While the Philadelphia Phillies have missed the 2020 Major League Baseball postseason, that didn’t stop one of the 2019 Phillies from making a statement in the first round of the playoffs.

Former Phillies outfielder Corey Dickerson hit a huge go-ahead, three-run home run for the Miami Marlins in the seventh inning of their first postseason game against the Chicago Cubs.

Cubs starting pitcher and 2016 World Series champion Kyle Hendricks had been shutting out the Marlins through 6 1/3 innings, and held a one-run lead. But with two runners on, Dickerson had something to say about that, blasting a home run to left-center field to give Miami a 3-1 lead.

Dickerson spent the latter half of last season with the Phillies after the team acquired him at the deadline in a trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He hit .293 with eight home runs in 34 games as a Phillie, and signed a two-year contract with Miami prior to this season.
