A scintillating start to the thing they call spring training as Ivan Nova wraps his first outing with an ERA of 135.00. Alas, that’s for 9 innings, and thankfully, a lot of spring games won’t go 9. But that’s not really so bad. It’s a relative thing, you understand. Saturday night, against a fair at best Cleveland Cavalier defense, Seth Curry sot 1-13 on 2 pointers, 1-7 on 3 pointers, and 1-2 from the foul line. Curry’s “effort” included some overtime, worsening his numbers. Nova worked overtime, too. A part of 1 inning. Not to tell Girardi how to manage, but he should have pulled Nova halfway through wramups, or maybe even halfway to the park.
