Bryce Harper hits 250th career home run in Washington

Bryce Harper reached an important milestone on Thursday at Nationals Parl. (Cheryl Pursell)

The most overrated player in baseball was at it again.

Bryce Harper hit his 250th career home run in the third inning of Thursday’s game against the Washington Nationals, his former team. According to Elias Sports Bureau, he’s the 35th player in MLB history to hit his 250th home run and 250th double in the same season.

Harper came into the game with a .393/.514/.674 slash line since July 5. He’s in the middle of his hottest streak as a Phillie. If he can keep that production going for a few more weeks, he’ll surely be a favorite to win the NL MVP Award.

His next home run will be his 100th career home run in Nationals Park.
