In addition to announcing that reigning National League MVP Bryce Harper will be activated Friday, interim manager Rob Thomson issued a variety of other injury updates before Thursday evening’s series finale against the Cincinnati Reds.

  • Center fielder Brandon Marsh (left ankle sprain, left knee bruise) will DH at Lehigh Valley Thursday night, before playing in the outfield Friday. If all goes well, the 24-year-old could return to the Phillies on Saturday.
  • Zach Eflin (right knee) threw on flat ground today and has “felt good” the last few days, per Rob Thomson. He’s gotten up to 120 feet. The next step is getting on the mound, but there’s no set date for that yet. The Phillies hope he can return this year, but it’s unclear if he will.
  • Seranthony Domínguez (right triceps tendinitis) will be re-evaluated Friday. If all goes well, the 27-year-old could play catch tomorrow to see where he’s at.
